On this concert of fresh, new music, contemporaneous presents a wide variety of works that break barriers of style, genre, influence, and, of course, sound. Four established composers are flanked with pieces by brilliant, young up-and-coming talents in a program of music that tears down walls between classical and vernacular: rock, folk, jazz, and many others.

The entrancingly expressive Fifth String Quartet of Philip Glass opens the concert, and from there the afternoon builds in intensity through an epically relentless chamber concerto by Jesse Brown, a grooving dance by Jordan Nelson, among others. Finally, the concert culminates in NYC composer Julia Wolfe's vibrantly eclectic exploration of the leap of faith, Believing. This is our second performance at the Hudson Opera House, one of the most renowned and vibrant multi-arts venue in the Mid-Hudson Valley.
