Sabrina Tabby, violin

Outside Philadelphia, born (in 1990) and raised, on the playground violinist Sabrina Tabby did not spend most of her days. Starting piano at age 4 and both violin and ballet at age 6, she did not have much time for playgrounds. Sabrina enjoyed performing annually with the Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet and participating in several local solo and concerto competitions on both piano and violin. She played in the Main Line Youth Chamber Orchestra, with whom she sat concertmaster and performed several times as a soloist, and the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra.

Sabrina was a member of the Seraphina String Quartet who were featured on both the From The Top Radio and TV series and participated in the 2007 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. In 2008, with the Ivory String Quartet, she was again invited to participate at Fischoff.

She has enjoyed partaking in summer festivals since 2002, including Kinhaven Music School, Bowdoin International Music Festival, Quartet Program, and Les Rencontres Musicales Internationales en Graves (near Bordeaux, France). She sat concertmaster of the festival orchestras at Colorado College Summer Music Festival (in 2009) and Round Top Festival Institute (in 2010).

In her free time, Sabrina loves playing Spider Solitaire and watching the Food Network and other trashy television. She is currently enduring her sophomore year at Bard College Conservatory in Laurie Smukler's studio and plans to double major in French Studies.
