Contemporaneous 2012 Call for Scores
Deadline: February 15, 2012
Contemporaneous is all about the music of now, and our annual Call for Scores is one way that we keep up to speed with what is going on in our day and age. We are looking for compelling chamber and ensemble music written since 2002 by composers of all ages and origins. We are able to consider works for a wide variety of instrumentations, including works with electronic components. While we will consider works that slightly exceed the following parameters, we mostly accept works for the following instrumentation, including solos and any subsets:
- 1 flute (doubling piccolo)
- 1 oboe (doubling English horn)
- 1 clarinet (doubling bass clarinet)
- 1 bassoon (doubling contrabassoon)
- 1 horn
- 1 trumpet
- 1 trombone
- 2 percussion
- 1 electric or acoustic guitar (doubling banjo)
- 1 harp
- 1 piano (doubling keyboard)
- 2 violins (one doubling 6-string electric violin; one doubling mandolin or electric mandolin)
- 1 viola
- 1 cello
- 1 contrabass (doubling electric bass)
At least one work submitted to the 2012 Call for Scores will be selected to be programmed during the Contemporaneous 2012-2013 concert season! Composers may submit up to three compositions written in 2002 or later. Each competing composer should include the following:
- One to three scores (pdf)
