If you are inspired by what Contemporaneous is doing with the music of our time, we want you to get involved in making it happen! There are as many ways to work with us as there are people who want in, so don't hesitate to contact us if you are interested.

Perform with Contemporaneous

Do you want to take part in passionate performances of music at the cutting edge, work with emerging and established composers on brand new works, and reach audiences of all kinds around the Hudson Valley and New York City? The talented and dedicated members of contemporaneous enjoy these experiences and many more. We do not currently have a formal audition process and we are usually able to incorporate anyone who is interested in performing with us. Most of our performers are students at Bard College because the bulk of our rehearsals take place on its campus, but we are not exclusive in that regard. Volunteer with Contemporaneous

As Contemporaneous gains momentum, the planning and execution of our productions are become increasingly involved. Volunteers with contemporaneous perform a wide variety of tasks big and small that help us to spread new music to new audiences. Among the duties with which Contemporaneous always needs help are publicity, stage management, fund raising, transportation, and logistics. Our volunteers also get the unique experience of being directly involved with an emerging not-for-profit organization and have the opportunity to work with our musicians and composers. Every bit of help we get makes a huge impact that we greatly appreciate, so if you would like to help us, please contact us.


Submit works for programming consideration

At Contemporaneous, we are all about what is going on in the music of now, and want to present as broad and engaging a cross-section of today's music as possible. If you feel you have something to contribute to our programming, please submit score and/or recordings for us to consider.
